Deep Fried Potatoes / Hash Browns. Hash browns, also spelled hashed browns, are a popular American breakfast dish consisting of pan-fried shredded, diced, julienned or riced potatoes; some recipes add diced or chopped onions. I love potato hash browns as well as anyone, but oh my gosh. Grating the sweet potatoes will save you a trip to the gym (use the large holes of a box grater), but after that, all you have to do is fry them in a bit of butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Here I am right in the middle of making some hash browns.
The potatoes, I boiled yesterday, and put in a bowl in the fridge.
You can see I'm grating them right into the skillet.

Set air fryer to French fry setting and cook them until crispy, stir halfway through. They are still just a crispy and with all the flavour, but you are saving a few calories. For shredded hash browns, wash and peel the potatoes and then shred them with a box grater or in a food processor. Shredded potatoes tend to oxidize relatively quickly. If you're shredding them by hand with a grater, you may need to soak the shredded potato in a bowl of ice water to prevent the shreds.
