DO NOT change anything else in this recipe. If you do I cannot guarantee they will turn out. I use Kirkland Brand Salted Butter from Costco to make these cookies. I have also used Tillamook salted butter with equally excellent results.

  1. Preheat oven to 365°F.
  2. Cream together brown sugar and shortening(crisco), then add in eggs until evenly mixed.
  3. Mix together the other dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
  4. Add in the mixed dry ingredients gradually until evenly blended.
  5. Last, mix in the peanut butter and then chocolate chips.
  6. Use a spoon to scoop cookies onto an ungreased baking sheet( do not roll dough into balls) and bake for 9-10mins. This is a double recipe so cut ingredients in half if you don't want a few batches..
  7. Cookies will still be gooey when you take them out of the oven, so let them sit for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
